Charlotte vs. Duke updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Friday

Game Recap

The best player on the turf between the Duke Blue Devils and the Charlotte 49ers on Friday ended up on the losing team. Although he couldn't prevent a 31-28 loss to Charlotte, RB Mataeo Durant rushed for three TDs and 255 yards on 29 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the matchup was Durant's 59-yard touchdown rush in the fourth quarter.

In addition to Durant, Duke got help from RB Jordan Waters, who snatched one receiving TD.

QB Chris Reynolds had a stellar game for the 49ers as he passed for three TDs and 324 yards on 30 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 37 yards. Reynolds' 56-yard touchdown toss to WR Grant DuBose in the first quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the night. Charlotte also got help from WR Victor Tucker, who showed off his sure hands for 133 receiving yards in the win.

The contest pushed Duke down to 0-1 and pulled Charlotte up to the reverse at 1-0.

The Blue Devils will take on the North Carolina A&T Aggies at 8 p.m. ET next Friday at home. The 49ers will play host again and welcome the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs to Jerry Richardson Stadium, where kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET next week.
