California vs. Oregon State updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the California vs. Oregon State football game
Game Recap
The Oregon State Beavers typically have all the answers at home, but on Saturday the California Golden Bears proved too difficult a challenge. The Golden Bears came out on top against Oregon State by a score of 39-25. Oregon State can consider this payback for the 31-27 loss they dealt California the last time the teams encountered one another last November.
California's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 17 points in the first half. Oregon State wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 17-10 heading into the break. The offense for California continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 22 points to put the game away.
It was another big night for the Golden Bears' QB Chase Garbers, who passed for three TDs and 258 yards on 25 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 61 yards. RB Christopher Brown Jr. also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
The losing side was boosted by WR Trevon Bradford, who caught six passes for two TDs and 123 yards. The game pushed the Beavers down to 5-3 and pulled California up to the reverse at 3-5.
California will square off against the Arizona Wildcats at 3 p.m. ET next Saturday at Arizona Stadium. These teams both might be coming in a bit winded after having run the length of the field multiple times in their most recent games. Oregon State is on the road again next Saturday and plays against the Colorado Buffaloes at 7 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at Folsom Field. Like Oregon State, Colorado is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 52-29 to the Oregon Ducks.
