California vs. Colorado Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the California vs. Colorado football game
The Colorado Buffaloes have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. Colorado and the California Golden Bears will face off in a Pac-12 battle at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at California Memorial Stadium. The Buffaloes will be strutting in after a win while California will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Colorado got themselves on the board against the Arizona Wildcats last week, but Arizona never followed suit. Colorado blew past the Wildcats 34 to nothing. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Colorado had established a 27 to nothing advantage. Colorado QB Brendon Lewis was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 248 yards on 19 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Lewis' 62-yard TD bomb to WR Brenden Rice in the third quarter.
The Golden Bears came within a touchdown against the Oregon Ducks last Friday, but they wound up with a 24-17 loss. A silver lining for California was the play of QB Chase Garbers, who passed for two TDs and 247 yards on 42 attempts in addition to picking up 31 yards on the ground. Garbers had some trouble finding his footing against the Washington State Cougars three weeks ago, so this was a step in the right direction.
Colorado is expected to lose this next one by 9. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the team has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
The Buffaloes' victory brought them up to 2-4 while the Golden Bears' loss pulled them down to 1-5. A pair of stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Colorado is stumbling into the contest with the 230th fewest passing yards per game in the nation, having accrued only 125 on average. California has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 200th worst in the nation in passing yards allowed per game, with 275.2 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
